ÂÜÀò°®Å¾Íø Qld's Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC), together with the Queensland Division Committee and State Manager lead our Policy and Advocacy work in Queensland. This work continues to be predominately member-led.

ÂÜÀò°®Å¾Íø continues to be a sought after policy contributor, sitting on various government committees and working groups, contributing to good planning process and outcomes in Queensland.

ÂÜÀò°®Å¾Íø leads proactive Policy and Advocacy, particularly in relation to our priority matters. Our PAC has 3 technical working groups:

Climate HOUSING PLAN TECH

These working groups comprise subject matter expects in these areas of Policy and Advocacy and lead the technical work, calling upon our fellows and expert members as the need arises. We welcome new members on these groups always, please reach out if you'd like more information on contributing.

What else is the PAC doing?

  • We provide confidential feedback to state agencies upon request on finer details of proposed legislative changes and new initiatives.
  • We are advancing a climate conscious planning system.
  • We participate, attend and contribute to the ÂÜÀò°®Å¾Íø National PAC agenda.
  • We seek opportunities to collaborate with like-minded organisations.
  • We are working towards a program to advance PlanTech for Queensland in line with National goals
  • We prepare for and attend parliamentary hearings on tabled bills.
  • We seek out our expert planners and participate as an industry peak body in targeted consultation on matters such as the development of the Queensland Housing Code and the Queensland Water Strategy, and other State and regional plans and policies.
  • We read and review strategies, policies and initiatives by government and peak bodies for matters that impact out members and planning.
